I've been really happy with 7.0's battery life for the 2 years I've had it, and have never seen a reason to upgrade to 8.0. When I got it I was told by the staff member not to update because it would slow down my phone, as it's an older model and the new updates are trying to get you to upgrade to a newer phone. ![]() Dying constantly even when it's not in use & screen off & plugged in. Just need this update uninstalled, because my phone is pretty much unusable currently. Happy to root my phone if that's the only option. I have the option to uninstall updates for google play services - it just won't let me due to administration settings and then won't let me edit administration settings. According to the article it's possible but it's not working on my version & phone so I'm wondering why. The issue isn't that i want to uninstall google play services, it's that I want to uninstall the UPDATE that i just downloaded. This is the article I was referencing -> Īside from my phone heating up, slowing down, and draining battery immediately after installing the update (also the only thing I installed that day), it's used 25% of my battery life according to the phone app stats. I know, but google play services updates tend to cause battery drain on older phones. ![]()
